Mike - Guitars and vocals

Mike was a teenager in Havana when he first heard the Beatles.  Although rock-and-roll was forbidden on Cuban radio, Miami radio station WQAM's signal reached across the Florida Straits to the eager ears of Cuba's youth.  Mike knew at once that he wanted to play rock guitar!

Mike started attending the Havana Conservatory in 1968.  From 1974 to 1980 he played in several rock bands (DAMPER, WATTS, THE NEW GENERATION) that performed at parties and clubs.  Rock musicians were always at risk of harassment, arrest, or bodily injury under Castro's regime, but Mike persevered.  In 1980 he made it to Los Angeles where he played covers of top 40 hits with "SUPERKOOL".  He moved to Miami in 1984 and played Heavy Metal with LINES OF FORCE and PURPLE HEART.

In 1986 Mike formed LAWTON which would eventually become the embryo of REWIND.
